The Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) is directed by Dr. P. Shawn Irvin with key support from Joe Swinehart, Joseph F. T. Nese, and members of the Oregon Extended Assessment team. Computer Programming is maintained by Evan Townsend. The focus of BRT’s work on the VAAP is to develop and validate Virginia’s alternate assessment in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education and Pearson Education & Assessments.
